Five days out from Flight 14: no closure orders yet, and a correction on where to watch for them

Update (Sept. 12): the target has since moved to September 18; see the newer item.

The September 15 target is holding as of this morning, but the paperwork trail hasn't caught up yet: the City of Starbase's beach-and-road page lists no launch closure orders; the most recent order posted is dated August 30. Closure orders typically publish two to five days out, so if Tuesday holds, they should appear within days. Today's only restriction is a road delay, not a closure, on Highway 4 between the Massey test site and the Production facility, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, consistent with routine pre-launch hardware moves. Boca Chica Beach is open.

Correction (Sept. 10): earlier items on this page (and our launch guide) told readers to confirm dates against Cameron County's SpaceX page. That guidance was out of date, and it was ours to fix: since Starbase incorporated, closures post as Mayor's Orders on the City of Starbase's Beach and Road Access page. The county's page hasn't been updated since spring 2025, and its newest listed closure is from last October. We've corrected the launch guide and the affected items below. The channel that never changed: text BEACH to 866-513-3475 for the city's real-time alerts.
