While Flight 14 waits on paperwork, Flight 15's stack is already getting engines, and Flight 16 is penciled in for Florida

Flight 15 is already stacking: Ship 42 and Booster 22 are getting engines
Reporting: NASASpaceflight, Sept. 14 and 17.

Launch watch first: Flight 14 is still no earlier than Monday, September 28. The tracker at Starbase Events reads "in 8 days" this morning, the city's beach page still says "Boca Chica Beach is open" with no notices posted, and the closure-order window we flagged (~September 23–26) hasn't opened yet. Nothing moved overnight; yesterday's lead stands.

Meanwhile the production site has already turned the page. Per NASASpaceflight's reporting this week, Ship 42 (the vehicle we watched hanging from the chopsticks September 13) has wrapped its multi-day catch-related testing at Pad 2 and rolled back to the production site for engine installation, ahead of static fire testing at Massey's. Booster 22 ran its cryogenic proof campaign at Massey's and rolled back to Mega Bay 1 on September 12 for its own engine installation, ahead of a static fire at Pad 2. The stakes NSF sketches for this pairing are the biggest since the program began: if Flight 14 flies clean, Flight 15 becomes the first realistic opening for a ship catch and, best case, a double catch of both booster and ship. Beyond that, KSC workers tell NSF that Flight 16 is now internally cited as the first Starship launch from LC-39A at Kennedy Space Center, with SpaceX likely wanting to send Booster 22 east after catching it. NSF's own caveats are the right ones, so we'll repeat them: Flight 14 still needs a license and a clean countdown, and Flight 15 still has to justify a catch attempt. But that's the shape of the fall: orbit, then catches, then Florida.
