Starbase sets a Nov. 18 hearing on annexing about 192 acres north of Highway 48
Starbase posted a hearing notice on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026 for a proposed annexation of the "Garcia North Area," 192.14 acres "more or less," "on the request of each owner of land in the area" (Texas Local Government Code 43.0671). The notice does not name the owners.
The hearing is set for Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2026 at 7 p.m., during the City Commission's regular meeting at City Hall, 48491 State Highway 4. Written comments go to the City Clerk at cityclerk@starbase.texas.gov.
The area lies on the north side of State Highway 48. It is part of an 893.44-acre tract recorded as Cameron County document 2026-34223, the deed recorded Sept. 18, 2026, in which SpaceX bought the surface of about 1,415 acres. The sellers kept the minerals. Our Oct. 16 story and deeds map.
Next: we'll post the Nov. 18 agenda when the city publishes it, and the result after the hearing.
